I have some questions about hunting dogs?

My dad asked me to help find him some information about hunting dogs. We need to know two things.


1. What are some of the best bird dogs?


2. When would be the best time of the year to get a puppy to train?

For quail and pheasant it's hard to beat a good German Shorthair. Second choice would be a Brittany.





Waterfowl dogs it's hard to beat a Lab.





Anytime is good to get one and train, though if you get one in the spring and work with it, it would be ready to try out that fall.I have some questions about hunting dogs?
