a Henry .22lr I only shoot them in the head so I do not ruin any meat. What type of weapon/ammo do you use when you go rabbit hunting and for what reasons?
well, with an air rifle I would only go with high velocity .22 cal pellets or not use one at all. Depending on where you are hunting, suburban area or very rural. You can use a .22 lr which is my favorite or any shotgun. The most popular rabbit medicine is probably a .410 with a good load of #6 shot or a 20ga with the same and a full to modified choke for bunny's on the run. So really just about anything you have will work.
12 or 20 gauge shotgun or a 22 long rifle.* Use number 4 bird shot for rabbit.*
Marlin Model 39A loaded with CCI mini mags hollow points. With head shots there is no wasted meat and they do not suffer.
12g Shotgun using 32g no5 shot. Or .22LR with 40 grain hollow points.
