What is the best, thinnest socks for keeping your feet warm and dry for hunting ?? ?

The boots I bought don't have a lot of extra room for thick socks. That's why I thought I'd ask if there are any good thin socks that work well for hunting weather. What is the best, thinnest socks for keeping your feet warm and dry for hunting ?? ?
Ive been experimenting with with different sock combos over the last few years and I think I finally found the ultimate cold weather sock combo. Start by putting on two pair of thin dress sock (the stretchy black ones with patterns on them that you wear with suits), then slide a medium thickness wool sock on over them. People swear by the unnatural material such as polypropylene because it does not absorb moisture but they do not insulate as well as cotton or wool. By combining the two materials and creating a wicking barrier your feet will stay dry and that leads to warmth. What is the best, thinnest socks for keeping your feet warm and dry for hunting ?? ?
I dont know about for hunting but for hiking I find that merino wool socks are thin yet really warm and they will even work if they get wet. They range in price- $4 for 74% merino wool to $20 for the same or sometimes even less merino wool. Costco or sams club has the less expensive but are just as good as paying for a brand name
try a light wool or polypropylene sock and layer with a waterproof sock like ';sealskin';,gortex seem to help retain heat since they don't breathe as well. This should keep you feet warm and dry if you cannot get a bigger boot size.
