I am in west central louisiana and was wondering if anyone knows if the oil used to deep fry the turkey would be good to poor out in the woods as an attractant. For hunting whitetail deer is used cooking oil a good attractant?
mix with deercorn oatmeal and acorn all ground up with some malases. and you basicly have yourself a salt block. but as for the oil alone i dont beleve that there would be any reason that the deer would be attracted to thatFor hunting whitetail deer is used cooking oil a good attractant?
NO NO NO NO a deers sense of smell is their most valuable tool for survival,so if they smell something they are not used to you will never see them. what i use is a coon piss cover scent on my boots and scent wafers usually acorns.
Deer do not watch TV so they don't know about McFries, McChips or other McCrap.
Who put you up to this Wesson Oil, or Larry the Cable Guy?
used cooking oil works for bears, but it would tend to spook off a white tail. Scents like apple, or estrus work much better.
split apples, sugar beets, young green corn stalks %26amp; sugar cane stalks, make good attractants
No, DO NOT use this at all! It will drive the deer away as they are herbivores and not carnivores. Go to your local outdoors store and buy some Tink's #69.
Also from central louisiana Grey. NO don't do it.
